Wood Over Concrete
If your existing concrete is ugly but still structurally sound, this is a highly efficient transformation. We anchor premium treated wood strapping directly to the concrete base, followed by high-quality treated deck boards. The sides can be customized with finished wood planks or lattice, and we can integrate custom, secure wood railings for added safety. Optional stair tread Grip Strips (bare foot friendly) are available for added slip resistance in wet or snowy conditions.
Total Wood Replacement
When the existing concrete is beyond repair but you prefer the look and feel of a deck-style entry, we provide a complete tear-out. We safely demolish and remove the failing concrete steps and build a brand-new, structurally engineered wood entry system using premium treated lumber.
Advanced Concrete Restoration (High-Strength Coating)
Many "scammer contractors" will just slap cheap parging over rotten concrete—which flakes off a year later. We do it right. We chip away all loose concrete and old, failed repairs. We install corrosion-resistant wire mesh and drill in corrosion-proof, epoxy-coated rebar where required. We then apply a high-strength repair mortar, grind it smooth, and finish it with a broom-textured, high-strength topcoat for maximum slip resistance. The sides are finished with a clean, dashed stucco coat. Your steps will look and perform like new for years to come.
Structural Concrete Cap (Chip and Re-Pour)
This method is the perfect solution for steps that have 3 to 4 inches of severe crumbling on the surface, but are still firmly attached to your home's foundation and structurally sound underneath. We chip off the top 3 to 5 inches of the entire step. We glue epoxy-coated rebar deep into the existing base and attach corrosion-resistant mesh to guarantee the new concrete bonds perfectly. We then form it up and pour fresh concrete directly from a ready-mix truck, finishing the sides with a beautiful dashed stucco coat.
The Complete Concrete Rebuild (Rip & Replace)
This is the ultimate, permanent solution for steps that have completely failed or shifted. We handle the full demolition and removal of your existing steps. We then drill at least one structural pile into the ground to protect against Manitoba frost heaves, before forming and pouring a brand-new, heavily reinforced concrete step.
